A vision statement is the ultimate goal which a business company, governmental entity or a  non-profit organisation aspires to achieve or become. The vision statement guides the organisation and provides a roadmap for achieving the same. The vision statement states the organisation's objectives and long term existence plan. A vision statement generally remains same and is rarely modified during the entire life of an organisation.

Vision statement should be short, succinct, easy to understand and must bring out the core message to the audience.
