THREE IMPORTANT PRACTICES OF HR ARE:

  1. PROVIDING SECURITY TO EMPLOYEES: SECURITY CAN BE IN TERMS OF SECURE ENVIRONMENT AT WORK OR JOB SECURITY.  IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE EMPLOYER TO PROVIDE HIS EMPLOYEES A SAFE AND SECURE ENVIRONMENT DURING WORK. NOTHING HARMFUL SHOULD BE THERE. EMPLOYEE SHOULD BE COMFORTABLE WHILE WORKING. A FORMAL CONTRACT BETWEEN THE EMPLOYER AND THE EMPLOYEE ENSURES THE EMPLOYEE ABOUT HIS JOB. THEY CAN CONCENTRATE ON WORK MORE FREELY IN TIMES OF RECESSIONS ALSO. OTHERWISE THEY WILL BE TENSED REGARDING SITUATIONS LIKE LAYOFF ETC.
  2. HIRING THE RIGHT PEOPLE: IT IS THE FUNCTION OF HUMAN RESOURCE DEPARTMENT TO RECRUIT AND SELECT EMPLOYEE THROUGH PROPER PROCESS. THEY HAVE TO SELECT CAPABLE AND RIGHT EMPLOYEES FROM ALL THE CANDIDATES WHO APPEAR FOR THE JOB. THIS ALSO INCLUDES THE JOB ANALYSIS PART. RECRUITMENT PROCESS INCLUDES POSTING THE REQUIRED AD, INVITING RESUMES ETC WHERE SELECTION WOULD INCLUDE SCREENING RESUMES, INTERVIEWING CANDIDATES AND SELECTING THE RIGHT PERSON FOR RIGHT JOB.
  3. EFFECTIVE TEAM MANAGEMENT: HR ALSO HAS TO ENSURE THAT THERE IS PROPER TEAM MANAGEMENT. WORKPLACE CONFLICTS ARE SOLVED AND MINIMISED. TEAMS ARE MOTIVATED TO PERFORM BETTER BY APPRECIATING THEIR EFFORTS AND WORK. PROBLEMS AND DEVIATIONS IN THE PERFORMACE OF THE TEAMS SHOULD BE REMOVED TO REACH TO THE GOALS SO THAT INDIVIDUAL GOALS OF THE TEAM MEMBERS ARE ALSO ACHIEVED.
