The theories relating to communication in general and more specifically to non-verbal communication, impact the effectiveness of electronic communication (i.e. email, text, etc.) as a communication medium within organizations because such theories give a lot of importance to socializing and meeting with each other and non verbal communicating through gestures, facial expressions, tone of voice, eye contact, body language, posture etc which are lacking in electronic communication through email, text etc. Hence such theories of non verbal communication result in undermining the effectiveness of electronic communication.
