Think of a time when you have been persuaded by someone to do something. Why was the other person able to change your attitude or behavior?
Interesting question. In fact I observe people's behaviour and try to understand why they are behaving like that. I know a person from my neighborhood who has a good commanding power. I know this man has a power to make us obey. One day I was passing by him on a motorbike. He called me asked for my bike for a few minutes. I didn't want to give it to him, but I was almost to hand over the bike. Suddenly I understood I am going to obey him out of his commanding power, and not with my complete will. Then I said that I'm going in urgency and I can't give the bike.
Now I will tell a situation where I was fully persuaded. I had a teacher who was very kind to me. Once he wanted me to give the names of my classmates who use mobile phone in the class. Using phone in the class is restricted. I'm not actually the kind of student who does anything to please the teachers. But this time I obeyed him and I gave a list with 6 names in it. Actually I did not wanted give away the names of my friends but I did it. Maybe, I think, the special kindness of the teacher towards me was the reason I was persuaded to him.
Persuasion is psychological act. Some people do it deliberately while so have it in their gene. A sense of inferiority, or belittleness also makes a person obeying other.
