Answer:- Secondary data is the information collected through primary sources that are made available for researchers. As it is readily available it is inexpensive to obtain which is one of the biggest advantages for the researcher. It involves re-analyzing and interpreting past information. The researcher's source these data from both internal and external sources. Sometimes the data are also collected without any specific reason for research like in the case of the national census.

The methods for gathering secondary data are:-

1) Internet:- Internet is one of the most used methods of collecting secondary data. Internet data are readily available where some data are free of cost while others have to pay a negligible amount of money.

Example:- Websites have a lot of information that an organization can use for the research purpose that suit their needs.

2) Newspapers:- Newspaper is another useful and readily available source for secondary data. The data mostly shared here are political, educational, and economic.

Example:- It published about market research, economic development, political views and educational

3) Libraries:- Libraries are the best and cheapest source for secondary resources. It has lots of research copies that were conducted earlier.

Example:- If a researcher wants good information for past historical data this can be the best option.   

4) Government agencies:- Secondary data can also be collected from the government agencies US Census Bureau or government department like tax records, housing, etc which have relevant data that businesses can use.

5) Research institute:- Research institute analyze various problems and build data that is collected from the public.

Example:- Research institute like N.S.S.O, C.S.O publish data that are collected by them for public use.
