Again consider, in your clinic, there are five patients among them one has serious of heart and second need a brain, next two are suffering from lung failure each, and one needs a liver. You have received a patient with named “A” who have come for routine checkup. After checkup, you come to know that he is perfect for your five patients. You can save your five patients as well as you can enhance your repute by cutting A. What should you do in such situation? Also highlight the importance of a person’s life.

I would rather search for other options than cutting A for the requirements. As ‘A’ has just came for routine check-up, it would be unethical and inhuman to cut A for the benefit of the other people and for the personal benefit of the clinic. Hence, I would not cut ‘A’ for the requirements by the five persons.

Importance of a person’s life

A life of a person is very much important to himself, but its importance to the other individuals varies widely. Importance of life of the individual for the other persons and by the person himself depends on the culture and perception of the individuals. Individuals who are raised in the environment where they give least importance to the life are considered to be giving least importance as compared to the individuals who are raised in a much pampered environment. If you believe that being human is intrinsically important you can, if you are a subjectivist, by this mean that the property is intrinsically important for humans, i.e. human beings place a special value on being human in itself, a value which is not dependent upon what is associated with belonging to that species.
