Answer #1

Adaptation is the physical or behavioural characteristic of an organism that helps an organism to survive better in the surrounding environment.”

Adaptations can be of the following types:

Structural Adaptations

These involve the physical features of an organism that help them to survive in the environment including the different types of  terrestrial habitat. The physical changes are related to the changes in the physical environment. For eg., camouflage, which is the protective colouration that helps an organism to blend in its environment. This protects them from predators and increases their chances of survival.

Behavioural Adaptations

This is the change that affects the behaviour of an organism. This could be caused due to the changes in the surrounding environment or due to the actions of other species. For eg: The rabbit freezes if it feels that it has been seen by a predator. Changes in reproductive strategy, feeding habits, migration, hibernation, communication methods are a few other examples of behavioural adaptations.

Physiological Adaptations

Like structural adaptations, the physiological adaptations also involve physical changes in the species. However, physiological adaptations are not always seen in the organism’s appearance. This type of adaptation can be either due to changes in the environment or due to the behaviour of other species.

For eg: A fish living in water that suddenly becomes more acidic has to shift its body chemistry to adapt itsel

Theory of Adaptation

The theory of adaptation was proposed by Charles Darwin which states that an organism that is able to adapt to the changing environment will survive, the rest will be eliminated. This is known as survival of the fittest.

According to the adaptation theory, there are different changes that take place when the habitat changes:

  • Habitat Tracking: This is when a species finds another environment similar to the environment it lived in before.
  • Extinction: When the species is unable to find such an environment, it dies or becomes extinct.
  • Genetic Change: This occurs when organisms with slight mutations are able to survive in a changed habitat with the best access to food and mates.

Closing of a complete facility

Facility closures are likely to become more common in the next few years as the need for inpatient services is replaced with an expanding variety of outpatient care options. With more options available for outpatient, specialized, or targeted care, inpatient visits are expected to decrease, thus leading facilities with inpatient beds, such as acute care or long-term care hospitals, to close. Ambulatory surgical centers and physician offices are rapidly becoming able to perform procedures on an outpatient basis that were traditionally considered inpatient procedures. A one-month recovery period for a hip replacement is now one week, and research shows that patients recover better and more quickly at home. Medical research and advances in technology are allowing procedures to be less invasive and provide better options for recovery that cater to the best possible outcome for patients, which also tends to decrease inpatient hospital stays.

Send an intimation to the factory inspector of the area where the factory is located of the intended date, reason of closure, number or workmen employed, muster roll, period of closure, type of closure and fill all the relevant forms as are required before ninety days of intended closure.

Decommissioning of the assembly line

Our expert team includes project managers, logistics experts, electricians, gas safe engineers, mechanical engineers, operations managers, NPORS certified engineers for lifting, joiners, construction and demolition engineers.

This broad range of in-house capability enables us to deliver on large-scale projects, giving you the peace of mind that your relocation will be delivered on-time and on-budget.

Our services include:

  • Decommissioning of machinery
  • Electrical and mechanical disconnections
  • Dismantling and documenting components for re-assembly
  • Removal walls and other infrastructure
  • Match-marking
  • Packing and crating of machinery
  • Loading and unloading on the most appropriate transport mode
  • Transportation and shipping (national and international)
  • Full end-to-end project management and documentation
  • Accurate re-assembly of machinery and equipment

Dismantling

We have a 3-point approach to the dismantling of factory equipment:

Cleanness – All tools are cleaned, free from dirt that could enter the machines. Lubrication oil will only be used when required and where safe to do so without having any detrimental effects on the machinery.

Value – We handle your machinery with care and attention, we understand the value in your assets. Machines are stripped into smaller, transportable sections using proven mechanical dismantling techniques only.

Access – We’ll review the site for access restrictions before our dismantling team are deployed. We’ll then advise of any prior access recommendations, eg. wall / infrastructure removal, before we start.

Electrical disconnections

As an NIC EIC approved contractor, our electricians will be on site throughout a project to ensure all machinery is disconnected in a safe manner. We will also ensure that no live cables are present in any walls that may need to be removed. Our team will safely isolate all supplies and remove any unnecessary cables.

Equipment crating

Once the machinery is stripped into smaller transportable sections, the equipment will be wrapped ready for packing. Our team of joiners will then build custom-sized crates for the equipment ready for secure and safe shipping.

Packing and crating will usually be completed before the equipment is moved from its original position. This helps keep the machinery clean, but also protects it throughout the journey through the factory.

Site security

Empty buildings can prove an attraction for the wrong kind of people, with machinery, tools and other valuable assets at risk of theft or damage if left unattended.

As standard, we supply welfare units where our engineers sleep overnight during the length of a project, providing security and peace of mind.

Additionally, we’re also able to offer a dedicated 24/7 on-site security option to protect your site and machinery day and night.

Conversion from two shifts to one shift operation

(Left Shift) Takes two numbers, left shifts the bits of the first operand, the second operand decides the number of places to shift. Or in other words left shifting an integer “x” with an integer “y” (x<<y) is equivalent to multiplying x with 2^y (2 raise to power y).

(right shift) Takes two numbers, right shifts the bits of the first operand, the second operand decides the number of places to shift.Similarly right shifting (x>>y) is equivalent to dividing x with 2^y.

  • The left shift and right shift operators should not be used for negative numbers. The result of is undefined behaviour if any of the operands is a negative number. For example results of both -1 << 1 and 1 << -1 is undefined.
  • If the number is shifted more than the size of integer, the behaviour is undefined. For example, 1 << 33 is undefined if integers are stored using 32 bits. See this for more details.
  • The left-shift by 1 and right-shift by 1 are equivalent to the product of first term and 2 to the power given element(1<<3 = 1*pow(2,3)) and division of first term and second term raised to power 2 (1>>3 = 1/pow(2,3)) respectively.
As mentioned in point 1, it works only if numbers are positive.
