You were hired as a professional project manager by the
stakeholders who own the X company in the beginning of January /
2020 to install a small fat refinery with a capacity of 50 m3 / d.
The contract was signed on 2/2/2020 by (the project manager and
certified by the legal department, the general manager) and
work started the following week The place has been prepared and
civil works started, and then other works. Because of the COVID-19
virus, the staff could not reach and complete the work, and the
project was supposed to be completed at the end of June / 2020
Stakeholders in Company X must pay financial fines to the
beneficiary to delay the completion of the project.
Who is responsible for this situation? Why?
PROJECT MANAGER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS SITUATION BECAUSE IT WAS HIS RESPONSIBILITY TO MANAG EVERYTHING IN THE PROJECT ( MATERIAL, LABOUR, SUPPLIERS ETC) SO THAT THE PROJECT IS COMPLETED ON TIME. HE IS OBLIGED TO PERFORM HIS FUNCTIONS TO ACHIEVE THE TARGETS ON TIME. EVEN IF THE CONTRACT WAS SIGNED AFTER A MONTH AND WORK STARTED AFTER AWEEK FROM SIGNING THE CONTRACT, BUT IT WAS HIS FUNCTION TO MANAGE THINGS AND HE WAS ALSO AWARE OF THE WHOLE PROCESS TO TIMELY COMPLETE THE PROJECT. THEREFORE HE WOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS.
