In your opinion why a country is competing to get the recognition of WHS for a destination?

If a site receives this badge given by UNESCO, it means that it recognizes this culture and shows how important they are to be protected. In my opinion, a country is competing to get the recognition of WHS for a site for many reasons. They are:-

• It brings international attention and recognition to the site as well as the culture.
• There would be necessary funds allocated and steps taken for its conservation and preservation.
• It would increase the pride sense of the nation and its local culture.
• This would help the government to have better relations with the international bodies, NGO's, private sector, etc.
• It helps to gain support from the UN system.
