I agree with your techniques to improve educational tours but if it was upto me then i would use different techniques like-

First technique will be Organize fun games at tours so that participants will not feel bored and get to know each other. second technique will be to organize competition like photography and who wins the competition then get reward. This will create interest and engagement in participants. Third technique will be to Be friendly and frank with participants. The environment should be open and friendly so that they feel relaxed. The fourth technique will be Tell interesting stores about places people are having tours. People take tours of places so that they can learn about that places. storeis are the best way to create excitement and engagement among people. fifth technique is to provide Snacks and free drinks because people will love to have free snacks and beverages while taking tour.Last will be make people interact with each other because social interaction can help people not to feel bored and remain energetic at tour.
