Basic research is that form of research which is done to enhance and increase the amount of knowledge that one possess. Its answers those queries which are not directly applicable and may not be useful in the near future to come.
While, an applied research is a kind of research which is used to solve a problem or issue in the real world. It is conducted to solve those questions which are to be answered on immediate basis.
Research synthesis is the process in which the results of various similar primary research are combined. This could be done either to obtain qualitative or quantitative research. It basically makes all the findings from various sources to be common and easily relevant.
Parsimony is a concept which is base on the principle that considering all things to be equal one must opt out the simplest explanation or solution to a problem or phenomenon. For ex- a problem X has multiple explanations such as A,B and C, in terms of parsimony one must opt the simplest explanation out of these in order to solve the problem X.
This statement basically signifies what primary data is. Primary data is the basic and most crucial part of information collected in order to solve any question or problem. Primary data is the first source of data collected from the actual occurrence of a happening or mis happening. It is the source of further information which will be required to undertake an issue.
