Artificial intelligence is rapidly influencing every aspect of human life. Artificial intelligence is useful in many areas such as healthcare, transportation, entertainment, manufacturing etc and it is rapidly expanding into many other areas that were previously not imagined.

In the area of Artificial intelligence, computers are programmed to learn from their past mistakes.  For example a self driving car has sensors that feeds information to the central computer and this way it is learning from the environment. It knows where the obstacles are and will not hit the obstacle. Hence a self driving car has to some extent human level intelligence as it constantly learns from the environment. However, it is not possible to program a machine to every life situation or to unforeseen situations. Human can quickly learn from new situations but machines must be programmed to adapt to a new situation they have never been exposed to.

Hence computers can be made to do repetitive tasks highly efficiently but they cannot get smarter than human beings as they cannot be programmed to every life exigencies.
