Because of the nature on the contact between a collection specialist (in or out sourced), phone call sometimes can be difficult and the collection specialist may need to involve their managers. Should all patients' request for a manager be honored?
In my opinion, all patients' request for a manager should not be honored and the decision must depend upon the specific patient request which requires manager's intervention and also upon the criticality of the matter. If the staff cannot handle a particular situation or decision is required to be made which would require manager to be present, then only the manager should be involved. All actions that can be taken at staff level, must be encouraged and taken without manager's intervention. Also in case a collection specialist is out sourced, he/she must collaborate with the manager for all decisions that require manager's intervention.
