Three key components of the criminal justice system are as follows:

1. Law enforcement: Law enforcement has officers for proper investigation regarding the crime and looking for evidence, that might be presented in front of a court if required.

2. Courts: These the premises where it is decided whether the accused person is guilty not on the basis of evidence and trials. Courts make sure that the law is enforced.

3. Corrections: If it is sentenced by the court that the accused is guilty of a crime, then the correction system tries to monitor and punish or correct the guilty person to make sure that he does not do any crime again.

Example to illustrate how these components interact with each other:

Through any source, if police or law enforcement officers get to know any person has committed a crime, then they try to collect evidence against the accused person. If they find evidence against the accused person that he has committed a crime, the case is sent to court where the accused person is given an opportunity to defend himself, and evidence is looked by the court, and judgment is passed whether the accused person is guilty or innocent. If the court finds accused person as guilty, the case is sent to a correction system where the criminal is kept under observation and monitored and it is made sure that he is no longer a threat to anyone.

Relationship between the criminal justice system and the US constitution:

In the criminal justice system, the US constitution tries to be fair with the accused person who is innocent. US constitution tries to give enough liberty to the accused person to prove himself that he is not guilty, he has all the basic rights that are given to any other citizen, like equal treatment in front of the law. Besides that, he can also cross witness the evidence presented in front of the court.
