This incident came when the company I am currently working for decided to implemt JIT in order to create a better inventory system and also, at the same time, adopt lean methodology, in order to optimize the supply chain. This was a hard decision for the team to implement as they had grown used to the current order of business. Being a retail company, storage was our main issue when the inventory was considered and implementation of lean methodology caused a shift in the working habit of the people. The entire team needed to work hard in order to implement this new system as soon as possible. Being the team. Leader, it fell upon me to inspire confidence in the members who opposed the change. Using transformational as well as democratic leadership style I was able to take into account their own point of view and used that as part of the process to manage as well as motivate them all the way.
