intermdiate sanctions can be appropriate for petty and not violent crimes. Why is that, or what would be the policy for deciding this
Intermediate sanctions are a type of punishments where offenders are confined to their homes and kept under some restrictions. They are given a chance to change . This is done for petty and harmless cases where the offenders have the right to live but must be kept under observation for public safety.. Inorder to given these santions the crime must be not so serious and no other common probations must be present for the offender. In some cases where the jails are filled , then the offenders with petty crimes are given these sanctions as they need not be kept in prison and can be let to be free while under observation.
