Define and describe the key shapes used in process flowcharting.

Some of the key shapes in flowcharting are:

• OVAL: It represents just the start and end of a flowchart i.e. the flowchart starts from an oval shape and ends with an oval shape.
• Arrows: It describes the relationships between the 2 shapes. For example: One to One or Many to Many or One to Many etc.
• Parallelogram: It represents the input and output that will be fed into the system so as to ensure that a process starts.
• Rectangle: It describes what all would be the processes used to achieve the final result.
• Diamond Shape: It simply indicates a decision i.e. a condition is placed inside it and 2 or more options emerge from it.
