improve the listening skills. It has six sequential steps for
effective listening and it can be used to improve your overall
listening skills. These six steps help to improve the listening
skills.
- Hearing: Hearing is the first stage of HURIER
model in which the physical process of the perceiving sound, means
we have received the initial sound of the speaker's.
- Understanding: It is the second stage in
HURIER model and in which we are able to understand the
message.
- Remembering: It is the third stage of HURIER
model and in which if we got some message from another than we are
able to store that message into our memory so that we can use in
future.
- Interpreting: It is the fourth stage of HURIER
model in which we have to pay attention to the entire speaker’s
verbal and non-verbal behavior so that you can assign a meaning
what the speaker said.
- Evaluating: It is the fifth stage of HURIER
model in which we have to apply the logic to assess the message and
judge the intention of the speakers, what he/she want to say.
- Responding: It is the last stage of the HURIER
model in which we have to indicate to the speaker that we are
listening to him or her. In which we have to give feedback to the
speaker about the message.
With the help of HURIER model, you can improve the listening
skill.
