Medicaid has a less than desirable reputation due to its low reimbursements and many providers will not accept Medicaid patients. That trend is not expected to change in the future.

In order for Medicaid to realize its full potential in the era of ACA what needs to be done to improve the Medicaid “brand” and encourage providers to take another look and participate in the networks?

One of the major issue with medicaid is low reimbursement in the plan.This is the major bottleneck or problem area.The implementing agency should devise plan to make adequate reimbursement and timely payment to the healthcare providers who have used it.A robust network should be created among providers, competition among insurers should be promoted and customer experience should be improved.In short the delivery mechanism should be improved and upgraded so that medicaid can again become the sought after thing.
