Providing security for an organization can be a costly venture. The cost of safeguarding our information and resources should never exceed the value of that information and resource. As an MIS manager we are forced to make some very tough decisions each day. Based on what you researched online, select a security measure that you feel may be too costly and/or provides only minimized benefit and explain why.
Try to discuss this from a different perspective than the regular Joe, if possible......250 words.
There is no doubt that providing security is a costly venture for organizations but with the high level of competition there is no other option that organizations can adopt and hence maintaining security has become a primary concern for organizations to handle. Data is the most important asset for an organization today and I believe that it is one of the most important and costly measure. If we look at security aspect, we will observe that providing security generally do not provide us advantages but it protects us from disadvantages, for example providing data security will not increase the revenue or volume of sales for an organization but it will make sure that the organization is protected front data breach or theft.
If a competitor organization gets hold of the data regarding the organization which is unethical but may be conducted because the advantage is huge and organizations will try to extract knowledge about the same and act on it for their better performance in the industry by getting to know the business strategy that the competitor my adopt in the future. Hence we can understand the important of data security and which may not increase the profit but may cause lose for the organization.
