One of the most important concepts to becoming successful is the belief that we have in ourselves. Henry Ford stated, “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right”. What does this quote mean to you? Then, discuss at least five beliefs that you have about yourself. Are they positive beliefs or negative beliefs? If they are positive beliefs, how do they help you reach your goals? If they are negative beliefs, how do they prohibit you from reaching your goals? What are some steps you can take to change negative beliefs into positive beliefs?

Answer #1

The meaning of this quote is a matter of simple understanding of the fact that the entire process of enabling ourselves to do or not do a particular thing is dependant on our state of mind If we trust ourselves, our skills. We can effectively conquer the problems and work towards reaching our goals. While if we do not trust our instincts, skills and feel incompetent, we lost half the battle instantly and this is the difference between the people that do and the people that don't

Five positive and negative beliefs that i have about myself are:-

  1. I am a fast learner and solve problems easily,

  2. I can analyze a situation critically and provide useful solutions and suggestions.

  3. I take the charge in the situations that require it.

  4. I lack patience.

  5. I prefer working all by myself instead of sharing the problem tasks.

The positive elements in my beliefs will; allow me the ability to be able to effectively adapt to any work environment, fight through stress and perform better as time progresses which is good for a professional sense buyt at the same time, i lack the patience to sometimes see the entire task through while, i sometimes believe either do not have the same element of understanding a critical problem like i would and therefore, perform a task myself other taj diving it amongst everybody which always cause a problem for me in the ned.

To change the negative beliefs into positive i will essentially learn to be patient with every situation or at least reserve my thought till a particular threshold has been passed while i would allow other team members to understand the task i want to share and how to achieve a particular goal and share it with the team.
