Are interest groups the factions that Madison refers to in the Federalist papers? Should we allow interest groups to have influence in the legislative process, or should be eliminate them? Is it possible to eliminate them?
Interest groups are the groups which influence the public in making decisions and are biased to their interests which are commonly confined to a section . These groups are exactly like the factions referred by Madison in his articles in Federelist papers. These groups are rebellious and influence people with their words and actions. These groups are only a disturbance to the legislative process because they do not benefit a whole nation and try to pressurise the government. Hnece these groups must not be allowed to have influence in the government. But it is not possible to eliminate them completely as there is a percentage of people supporting them. So the government needs to balance their decisions trying to take the demands of interest groups into consideration and doing it's best to do justice to all.
