discuss the major steps in closing a project or project phase. why is it particulary important to follow each of these closure steps for the current projects and future projects

There are three key steps in project closing process. They are

• Assurance of work completion: the team and the project manager needs to make sure that all the tasks have been completed.
• Assurance that all processes have been completed: the project may have specific and/or generic processes as part of its overall scope. These needs to be completed.
• Sign off from all stakeholders: All the key stakeholders for the project (team members, managers, clients, etc.) should agree formally that the project is complete

Once these three steps are completed, the project is considered close. These steps make sure that project manager has executed his/her responsibility along with the project team. This also shows that the all parties are on the same page and thus the project can be concluded. Thus it reduces possibility of future conflicts.
