The town of Surette must decide whether an abandoned building should be developed into private office space or a new community center. Using the facts below, make an argument for one option over the other. It is possible to make a case for either option. In making your argument, keep in mind the town's goals:

It wishes to generate revenue for the town to help it balance its budget.

It wants a high quality of life for its citizens.

One option is to convert the building into private office space and either sell or rent the office space. This would generate a significant amount of revenue for the town. The property could be sold or rented to a single organization or split up among many organizations. It would also be possible to reserve part of the building to house organizations that provide important social services.

Another option is to convert the building into a community center. The town of Surette has few such options available, and citizens have been requesting public facilities that offer social and athletic programs. Several corporate sponsors have expressed interest in funding the conversion of the building in return for naming rights to the building. As a community center, the building could also host events that could generate revenue for the town.

Write an essay in which you argue for turning the abandoned building into office space or a community center. Be sure to explain how the option you support will help the town meet its goals.

Answer #1

Explanation:

The best idea for the town would be they need to build the offices in that abandoned area and some of the part need to be reserved for social services which could help the town people have some basic social services. The abandoned building should be turned into office space which need to be rented individually so that a steady revenue would be generate and could be in help of town as from that revenue town can build community center and other facilities to improve its infrastructure. Selling would give them a single revenue but if they agreed to get it rented that income would be steady as well as it will give them more revenue than sell because after some years they could sell it so that rent and sale of that building could just get extra money for town and meanwhile that rent money can help them in many ways.
