Many people like to travel, but working globally can be a different experience from a holiday. In this regard, what are some of the risk of taking a global assignment too early in one’s career?

Global assignments are refer to the work which involve client and business which out of your country’s boundary.

People commonly perceive global assignment as a stepping stone in their career and mark them as an achievement.

So, is it a risk to take in early in the career ?

I think yes if you are not prepare for it. Some of the risks I can listed down here-

  1. Global assignment need direct communication with people from other culture. It can back fire you if you take it early in your career without studying cultural difference.
  2. Global assignment need customer manipulation and business understanding skill which come with experience and exposure , sometime if you take it to early in career it can cause failure.
  3. Networking skill come with experience as global assignment need test your networking skill.
