Microscopic studies are detect pathogens and pathogenic conditions in blood and body fluids. So there is a high risk for getting infections,by contamination and cross infection.

Pre procedural care

  • Wash hands and don gloves
  • Wear mask
  • Check the label and details
  • Sort the sample or specimen according to the nature of sample.

During the procedure

  • Done personnel protective equipments including goggles.
  • Handle all the specimen with the instruments only.
  • Don't spill or drop down any of the sample on ay of the surfaces or around the examination field.
  • Collect the light microscopic specimens exactly in to the proper containers after invasive procedures.

Post procedure care

  • Replace the used articles properly . Wash the instruments used and send it for sterilization
  • Discard the waste properly as per color codes.
  • Remove the ppe and discard it
  • Send the articles for sterilization
  • Wash hands
