Microscopic studies are detect pathogens and pathogenic
conditions in blood and body fluids. So there is a high risk for
getting infections,by contamination and cross infection.
Pre procedural
care
- Wash hands and don gloves
- Wear mask
- Check the label and details
- Sort the sample or specimen according to the nature of
sample.
During the procedure
- Done personnel protective equipments including goggles.
- Handle all the specimen with the instruments only.
- Don't spill or drop down any of the sample on ay of the
surfaces or around the examination field.
- Collect the light microscopic specimens exactly in to the
proper containers after invasive procedures.
Post procedure
care
- Replace the used articles properly . Wash the instruments used
and send it for sterilization
- Discard the waste properly as per color codes.
- Remove the ppe and discard it
- Send the articles for sterilization
- Wash hands
