Describe the condition of diabetes
Diabetes is a condition that happens when our blood glucose, becomes extremely high. Blood glucose is our chief reservoir of energy which proceeds from the food we consume. Insulin, a pancreatic hormone, stimulates glucose from food, takes into our cells to be utilized for strength.
How insulin is involved in the development of this chronic disease?
Carbohydrates from the food are divided down into glucose. Glucose later accesses the bloodstream. The pancreas reacts by generating insulin, which enables glucose to access the body's cells to produce energy and collect extra glucose for energy. Following our food, when insulin levels are high, extra glucose is collected in the liver as glycogen.
When there's not sufficient insulin to drive the glucose into our body's cells, glucose level will increase in the blood after our food and thus diabetes develops.
