Dependant nursing interventions:

  • Dependant nursing interventions are those requires health care personnels orders or instructions to perform the action
  • It cannot be performed by nurse alone without direction.

Example: Nasogastric tube intubation

Independent nursing interventions:

  • They do not require order or instructions from health care personnel, nurse can perform if she feel the need.
  • Nurse can implement on her own license, without order from doctors

Example: Giving pillow to the postoperative patient for support
