Ecology of human performance model and occupational adaptation is the framework that was founded by one of the occupational therapist who identified a gap between occupational therapy theory and practice.

This theory states that there are several factors that has impact on human performance. Those factors are considered as context such as physical, social, cultural etc. Person is affected by context and vice versa. If this context is changed or shifted then the person will be able to adapt to occupation which helps in betterment of performance, person learns the meaning of life.
