1) Major social issues are-

• Unhygienic condition of the environment, leads to occurance of many communicable disease.

• Cholera , typhoid outbreak.

• There was not female nurse station in the Crimea.

• Negligence of injured soldiers of the Crimean war.

2) Two contribution are-

a. Improve sanitary condition of the hospital, changing the infrastructure of the hospital.

b. Established Nursing school in the St Thomas Hospital.

3)a. She taught the nurses, how disease could be prevented by infection control, cleaning of environment and maintenance of hygienic conditions. Her strategy of infection control saved life of many injured soldiers.

b. Establishment of nursing school helps to develop nursing profession. She taught the junior nurse how to promote health, prevent illness. She taught about basic care to the student nurse and make the nursing profession as a nobel profession.
