Informed consent refers to the approval or a grant given by a patient or a client for doing a procedure, treatment ,research after being thoroughly explained in the language they best understand by the concerned health care personnels.

Medical research are carried out for an extensive period of time until the appropriate accurate results are achieved but in order to do a research information or documentations are required. This is used as evidences and also aide to proceed a research .The major drawbacks on accessing medical records of a patient is the difficulty existing in getting the informed consent to use it for medical research .It can make them to concern about their privacy being hacked or their is breach of privacy and confidentiality by providing access to their medical records.
