The high cost of prescription drugs thretens health care budgets, and limits health care fuding available for other areas in which public investments is needed ,in contries like India and pakistan without universal health care the cost of prescription drugs poses an additional threat, drug prices are too high access to medicines become out of reach for far too many patients, in many situations use of prescription drugs may lead to better overal health outcomes and even lower overall health care costs, however increased prescriptin drug use without an accompanying increase in quality of care or life, or lower overall health care costs may have a negative effective.
