A new patient dressed in dirty clothes and with poor hygiene comes to the physician's office with at an appointment. The patient's appearance indicates that this person may not be able to pay for the office visit. Body movements like nodding etc

When officer shows positive nonverbal gestures like by means of taking introduction

Smiling facial expression maintaining eye contact etc

Observation is very important because it gives us the real face of the individual and if the pt is knowing that he is being watched by other person he will overact this is called as Hawthorne effect
