Answer - Cholestyramine 4 gram b. I. d help to reduce blood cholesterol level, triglycerides or low density lipoprotein.

Cholestyramine binds with bile salts in the intestine which prevent reabsorption of cholesterol and redirect them for excretion.

So It help to reduce blood cholesterol level,so new bile acid synthesis occur every time and cholesterol level away from blood everytime.

Client teaching points -

- Cholestyramine come in gritty powder, should mix with water and juice before take it.

- Monitor early sign of peptic ulcer nausea, abdominal discomfort and consult with physician.

- Always intake medicine with liquid .
