The reason is that the Antibiotics are not effective against the viruses means they are useless in the case of the virus generated common flu, colds as well as bronchitis. And its a wron practice to prescribe to take antibiotics in the case of such virral illness. Further using antibiotics unnesessarrity can lead to the problem of the antibiotics resistance, which is the major concern now a days in Unites state, leading to the ineffective ness of such drugs on the population. And further in case of any bacterial infections it will be problematic to cure these due to existing bacterial resistance to antibiotics.

Hence provider did not prescribe her antibotic for her viral illness.
