Desirable Characteristics:

  • The doctor should order tests as and when necessary.
  • The doctor should be honest about his knowledge to the patient and must refer to a specialist in case he lacks the knowledge in that particular topic.
  • He must be a keen listener and shouldn't interuppt his patients when they're answering his questions.

Undesirable Characteristics:

  • Not maintaining confidentiality of the patient.
  • Asking for unnecessary investigations (MRIs,XRays) irrelevant to the particular case.
  • Not disclosing all the information which the patient must know.
