calculate the drop / minute flow rate using the formula method show your work a volume of 300 ml to infuse in 6 hours on a 60 drops per ml micro drip set

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Solution:-
Volume = 300 ml
Infusion time= 6 hour
Now, 1 hour = 60 minutes
6 hours =60×6 minutes
=360 minutes
So, infusion time(in min)=360 minutes

Drop factor= 60 drops per ml
Drop factor 60 drops per ml means 1 ml contain 60 drops
Now using unitary method:-
1 ml contain 60 drops
300 ml contain =60×300 drops
= 18000 drops

Therefore, flow rate(drop/min) =total drops in 300 ml / infusion time in min
=18000 drops/360 min
=50 drops /min
So, flow rate = 50 drops/min.
