Compare and contrast the rights of access of patient and third parties to patient-specific health information
Personal health information is the record of the patient in regards to their health disclosed to the healthcare provider. They have the right to access all the information as per the HIPAA.
Similarly the third parties cannot access all patient specific health records unless there is a proper request .They can access when patient has provided consent or authorisation to release. This is exceptional in case of Employers compensation, legal concerns, threat to the others or society ,preemption doctrine, compound authorisation ,all third parties .
