a) Read through the following passage. Identify whether it is internally consistent or inconsistent. Give reasons to justify your answer.

1. Performance enhancing drugs need to be banned specially in sports as people who take them can have an unfair advantage over others. Law should be passed to ban any such players who take these drugs from all sorts of competitions because taking such drugs means that the player is violating the sportsmanship spirit. In contrast to that if there is a player who has been advised to take such drugs because of his medical condition then it is alright as his intention is not to cheat in the game.

2. It has been observed that eating apples can prove to be healthier for us as compared to consuming sugary snacks. Some people believe that apples contain large quantity of acids which can damage the teeth but if we leave any kind of food on our teeth it will be harmful for them. In contrast to that snacks with refined sugar can be more damaging that is why dentists recommend apples as a healthy alternative.
