2- Ensure the safety of our nation's food supply.

3- Regulate and approve products.

Started with the agriculture division, Its origin began in 1906 as pure food and drugs act. Its trial phase includes testing the efficiency of drugs, assess the safety of drugs, and testing on patients.

The goal of the FDA is to protect public health by ensuring the safety and effectiveness of drugs.
