Public health focuses on the protection and improvement of health of individuals, families, and communities. It deals with the promotion of healthy living habits; detection, prevention, and control of infectious diseases; and research on diseases and injuries, giving emphasis to prevention. Healthcare focuses on value-based, patient-centric customized solutions. It helps individuals/clients to improve operational, clinical, and financial outcomes based on equity of access, care, and cure, giving emphasis to cure. Public health focuses on community or entire population health whereas healthcare focuses on individual health.
