Leukemua is a type of cancer, mainly it effects on blood forming tissues, like bone marrow. It have serious effect on teeths also. As a sign, bleeding from gums, gingivitis etc are showing. Many times, this cancer can diagnosed by a dental doctor.

In case of leukemia patients, oral or dental procedures should be done very carefully. So oral or dental care is very important in these patients.. Oral procedures should be planned according to severity. Dental problems should treat based on anti neoplastc treatments. It includes, chemotherapy, with or without radiatherapy and bone marrow tranplantation. After this anti neoplastc therapy only, the dental procedures should start. This should be the main consideration in leukemia patients for dental procedures.
