CPAP - Continuous Positive Airway Pressure is a type of positive airway pressure, where the airflow is introduced in to the airways ti maintain a continuous pressure to constantly keep the airway opens in people who are breathing spontaneously. CPAP is a way of delivering PEEP( positive end - expiratory pressure, it is the pressure in the alveoli above atmospheric pressure at the end of expiration ) and also maintains the set pressure through out the redpiratory cycle, during both inspiration and expiration.

* CPAP mode helps to maintain PEEP and can decrease atelectasis, increases the surface area of alveolus and improves oxygenation.
