The assessment techniques of genitourinary system male include inspection, percussion, palpation

The inspection includes; assessment of the abdominal contour, abdominal pulsations, peripheral vascular irregularities, and masses.

abnormal findings can be seen as problems in voiding patterns

Percussion to determine the organ size, liver span, ascitis and to check the tenderness.

Usually tenderness can be a problem and if any swelling of the organs it can be also identified.

Palpation is done to assess the size of the liver and to assess any tenderness.to identify local areas of pain, masses

Urinary retention can be seen as an abnormal finding. IF needed, a bladder scan can be done if the equipment is available. Urinary catheters can be also used to check the residual volume.
