Answer #1

Making something different from the original procedure or process is referred to as “change.” Change can happen in a planned or unplanned manner. If the change is unplanned, the outcome will be unpredictable, whereas the planned changes help to achieve the goals established. Various change theories applicable to nursing include the following:

1). Lewin’s change theory – The mostly used change theory in nursing (it is based on the driving and resistant forces)

2). Roger’s change theory (a modified form of Lewin’s theory)

3). Spradley’s change theory (an 8-step process developed based on Lewin’s theory of change)

4). Reddin’s theory (based on Lewin’s theory)

5). Lippitt’s theory (based on Lewin’s theory)

6). Havelock’s theory (based on Lewin’s theory)
