Answer #1

It is extremely important to use rates in a health event as it provides the accurate measure of a population in a given period of time. For example, 70 out of 1000 people developed cataract over 10 years. Here there is a given population( 1000) among which 70 people have developed the disease over a given period ( 10 years). It is extremely important measure certain incidence or prevalence of a disease or even the mortality rate in a given population in terms of health indicator of a country as it is more accurate and easy to define.
