Etiology/pathophysiology of type 1 diabetes:

In type 1 diabetes mellitus destroys insulin secreting beta cells of islets of langerhans by immune system which leaves the patient with low or no insulin. Glucose accumulates in bloodstream rather than entering in cells, as a result glucose levels get increased and cannot be used for energy

Potential medical diagnosis of type 1 diabetes:

• Ketoacidosis
• Nerve damage
• Eye problems/Blindness
• Kidney damage
• Increased risk of heart attack
• Infection of extremities which require amputation
