Interest groups do not have the power to pass laws; however, they can and do influence policy decisions. Provide examples and discuss how interest groups have influenced health policy decisions. For example, motorcycle helmet laws – if we know that the use of a safety helmet can protect individuals from severe head and neck injuries in an accident, why do some states not have full helmet laws for all motorcycle riders?

laws are for sake of public but some rules not maintaining by them because they are interfere the comfort zone of a person . it may vary to every person, some are like to do it, but some are not. in some cases they are not able to follows. a drunk person have altered mental status at the time of drunken state, the law says they should not drive vehicles but most of them not obey this rules while they consumes alcohol. it is an example for violation of law. in other hand the seat belt rule it cannot be followed by some physical conditions, eg: pregnancy, pain related to fractures. so the policy decisions are influences the personal interest of an individual.
