Decubitus ulcer are also known as pressure ulcer,bed sores etc.It occurs by the localized damage of the skin or underlying tissue that usually occur on a bony prominence as a result of pressure or pressure in combination with friction.It id developed at the areas of the body like hips,ankles,heels,tailbone.People at risk of developing many complications by these pressure ulcers,

  • cellulitis is an infection of the skin and connected soft tissue,it can cause warmth,redness and swelling to the affected areas.
  • Bone and joint infections can be observed and can reduce the function of joints and limbs.
  • Long term non healing wounds can develop a type of squamous cell carcinoma.
  • Rarely can also cause sepsis.
