Amiodaron inhibit metabolism enzyme in liver which cause increases the statin level

Potential complications are

myopathy

rhabdomyopathy

Renal damage

Liver damage

Death

Amiodaron is class 3 anti arrhythmics which prolong repolarization. Amiodarone is highly lipophilic and extensively bound to tissue and exceptionally long acting,plasma half life is 3 to 8 weeks.it can terminate life threatening arrhythmia if given i.v.however long term use carries the risk of Hypothyroidism,photosensitization,peripheral neuropathy and pulmonary fibrosis.

Statin are HMG - CoA reducatase inhibitor which competitively inhibit conversion of 3,- hydroxy-3-methyl glutaryl conenzyme A HMG-CoA to mevalonate,the rate limiting step in cholestrol formation
